I enjoyed drawing and painting from an early age and had private art lessons while at High school. I have a B.A. fine arts degree from University of the Witwatersrand (1971 – 1973) and a Transvaal Teachers Higher Diploma from the Johannesburg College of Education.

I have lived in various places around Southern Africa during my married life including Oranjemund in Namibia, Kimberley in the Northern Cape, Jwaneng in Botswana, Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Dundee in Natal and Johannesburg.

I joined the Watercolour Society of S.A. in 2004 and studied watercolours with Susan Orpen. I won a Highly commended award for a painting on one of the New Signatures exhibitions and attained Associateship of the WSSA in 2007. I served on the committee of the WSSA for 4 years and was vice-chairman for two of those years.

I am a member of the Miniature Art Society of S.A. since 2006 and am currently on the committee as Secretary. I had a miniature accepted for the World Exibition of Miniatures in Burnie, Tasmania in 2008 and for the World Exhibition of Miniatures in Moscow in September 2012. I won a first prize at the Parklane Gallery in the USA in 2014, and first prize for Architectural or Exterior at the Miniature Art Society of Florida USA in January 2015. I have sold miniatures through a number of galleries in the USA and was one of the top 5 sellers at our local exhibition in 2013.

I joined Artists Under the Sun in 2008, have served on the committee and was Chairman of the Society in 2011 and 2012.

I teach adult art, in all mediums, ( also miniatures), at various centres.I Work in watercolours, oils, acrylics, pastels, ink, pencils and charcoal and enjoy a variety of subject matter including wildlife, landscapes, cityscapes, figures, portraits, still life, flowers and abstracts or semi-abstract.

I have works in homes and offices around the country as well as in U.K., Scotland, France, Netherlands, Germany, U.S.A., Japan, Jordan, China, Malasia and New Zealand. Paintings can be viewed at
